Glimpses

Two weeks into the spring semester and I am still happily suffering from "the kid in the candy store" syndrome. I bound out of bed three days a week and shower, shampoo and shine. Hobble down the icy driveway here at Mommy Dearest's. Murmur a silent prayer to the Protector of Ancient Cars and zoom off to school. This may have been the simplest way to get my mojo back. So far, definitely so good.
And some weird things have been happening. Most flabbergasting of all is that I think a man flirted with me. Brief elevator ride. Joking about supporting a tuition increase for a parking lot shuttle bus. He, handsome wheelchair bound, mysterious facial scars a la Seal. Me, my usual shabby self. "I'd give you a ride, Sweet Lady, but I'm going the other way." I think I actually giggled. I hope I didn't giggle. My sister tells me if I felt like giggling then it WAS flirting. I don't know the rules; but it was very weird. Pleasant, but weird. Glimpse of Me as Attractive Human?
The lady who sits next to me in my first class of the day is a tiny, frail, African American. We were talking about hair and the difficulties presented by the unseasonably cold weather of late. I told her mine was frozen by the time I got into the building. She: "May I?" And she touches my hair! "Why your hair is lovely. So thick and wavy. This is your natural color? Just lovely?" Glimpse of Me Trading Beauty Secrets?
Unrelated to school was the last unscheduled car repair for Ancient Vehicle. Went for a coffee with Sister and Son. Discussing the latest evil exploits of Mommy Dearest. Phone call from repair place. Not only is the price going to be more than I anticipated; it is WAY more than I anticipated! Sister pats my arm. Son purchases a double order of french fries and we munch and commiserate. Tears and laughter, baby. Glimpse of Me as a Person Giving and Receiving Love?
Finally, the pictures above. Last night was the Perigee Full Moon. The closest the moon will be to the earth during all of 2010. I tried for some good photos. These are the best I could do. Glimpse of a Natural Miracle and My Humble Appreciation?
To Whom It May Concern: Thanks for a damn fine week!
