Just For Fun On Another Sweltering Afternoon

TEN BEST MARRIED TELEVISION COUPLES
1. Roseanne and Dan Conner – Devoted to their children, crazy about one another, real problems, big love. He can fix things AND he does the dishes!

2. Marge and Homer Simpson – She’s the curmudgeon. He’s the wild child.

3. Claire and Heathcliff Huxtable – Equally powerful in their chosen professions. Equal partners in their marriage They tease each other without descending into "mean." Even the in-laws are great.

4. Mary Beth and Harvey Lacey – Groundbreaking role models for their time. She is secure in her own law enforcement occupation and he is not threatened by her success. They work to improve their family and take joy in their work. They still lust after one another.

5. Morticia and Gomez Addams – Didn’t they make us all want to study French?

6. Florida and James Evans – Forget those children; watch how much these two love and relate to one another. Some excessive disciplinary moments, but it is the relationship that is so very
special..
7. Laura and Rob Petrie - The antithesis of every family I knew while growing up.One child? He went to an office every day wearing a suit and tie; and still had enough energy to do his little tipping over the hassock dance when he came home. And that snazzy hat he wore. She with her perfect helmet hair, wearing
those floaty pre-cursor to crop top blouses, and the only white girl flat ass done right in pedal pushers. New Rochelle was a whole different world.

8. Gloria and Michael Stivic – NOT Edith and Archie Bunker! Although dated, this couple still demonstrated the potential for a “new model” marriage. They both seemed to try so hard to get it right. Dangerously close to being a stereotype.

9. Maria and Luis Rodriguez – Running a business together. Raisng a child together. Perfect role models for children (and Muppets) of all ages.

10. Helen Crump and Andy Taylor – OK, so this couple was selected mainly because of his positive attributes as a single Dad and being the ever-so fair-minded sheriff. But I have a feeling if the show had been on longer Helen would have filled those Mrs. Taylor shoes.
