I have a very dear friend who lives far away and whom I haven't laid eyes on in...yikes, has it been almost thirty years? Anyway, she writes a delightful blog and is becoming a superb photographer. One of the best aspects of all this new fangled technology is that photos can be shared so rapidly.
However, centuries ago when those gals pictured above were little, photos had to be snapped, sent out for development, picked up and paid for, sorted through and mailed. This was one I sent to my friend. We both had young kiddos at the time and it was a sweet way of keeping in touch. Recently she sent this one back.
And I LOVE this picture. I'm not much of a photographer, but this is framed rather nicely. And the facial expressions are glorious. I even remember the day, not quite cold enough for full on jackets, but not so warm as to go jacket free. Thirty years later and my friend is still giving me presents.
WE WERE SO CUTE!!! I remember that jacket. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deb! It is such a great photo. I read once that it is a good idea to give lots of photos to friends in case you ever have a house fire - your family photos can be restored because your friends will have copies to give you.
ReplyDeleteThat's not actually such a great plan, as most folks don't really keep pix of other people. But putting them on the Internet (Flickr, Google pics, blogs, Facebook) really is a good way to preserve them from loss, I think. At least if the Internet survives.
Beautiful girls . . . .
