Everyday Thang

I am one of the lucky ones.

Years ago I figured out what a gift it is to tell someone they are loved.  They might be hoping for the  affection from the gorgeous creature who lives down the street or dreaming for that  fondness from the fuzzy furry creature who is the pet of another.  I can't do much about those moments.  But I give mine every chance I get.  The people I care about and hold dear and who are treasured by me hear "I love you!" from me every time they hear my voice.

And so, when I see or read about how people prance out their love only during this particular season; and how that 'laziness of emotion' or hypocrisy drives so many other folks insane...well, I am never surprised.  I make a point of telling my loved ones that they are loved but I know that's not going to lessen the assholes in the world.  I try not to suffer fools either.

What I am thankful for in this Hallmark holiday (since all the humans are loved and thanked every single day) is Elder House.

Perfect place for me right now.  I never have to wait for the bathroom.  The fridge is stocked (usually) with items I have chosen.  Houseplants are doing remarkably well in the sunlight here. Although the jade is gasping.  My music when or if I want it.  Sleeping whenever I think I can.  Ad infinitum

My definition of this lucky girl.

Oh, and MY people are very special, too.
