For awhile there I was confusing him with John Tuturro
He has the same quirky appeal and interesting voice. He also plays quirky and interesting characters in the movies. Certainly a candidate for being a new boyfriend. But, alas he is not the man this time.
I'm not quite sure while I confused the two. They don't really look like each other and they sound completely differently. Maybe it's the "weirdness factor" and I can't explain that. But Stanley Tucci is my favorite lately here in Fantasyland.
Since The Pelican Brief, where he played the ultimate assassin. Disguises and voice changes both carried off flawlessly. When he eats the chocolate from the dead guy's pillow I took notice. Nicely done.
Playing bald guys seem his forte'. Didn't we all envied Julia Child her loving husband in Julie and Julia? I did. Who else would have posed for Valentine cards in a tub full of bubbles?
And I forgive him the credit card voice over commercials. Academy award nominees have to earn a living like everyone else right?
I know. I know it's imaginary. That is the point of writing up a Boyfriend List. I just like these guys. And it keeps me from blowing my brains out. Maybe Mr. Tuturro will make the cut next time.

He also got my attention as the gay editor in The Devil Wears Prada. His kindness to Ann Hathaway the Whiner and his reaction to being passed over for a big promotion seemed very credible and funny at the same time. Skilled I thought.
