Transport

I don't really browse many blogs.  Too lazy and it takes a long time and my back starts to ache.  Like I needs me more pain.  But I recently found THIS and   THIS and I experienced some time travel transport.  Both blogs had posts about vintage patterns and when I saw this:
on yet another blog I became transfixed.  Mommy Dearest had used this exact same pattern to make many Halloween costumes for various sized siblings. At least one of each I am almost certain, although I don't recall the bunny.  The panda had pink seersucker ear lining in her version.  She was (is) very frugal.  For all I know this pattern is probably still jammed into a box in the closet near the back door.  MD rarely throws anything away.

I wonder if she knows what a gold mine is stashed in that little space.  I wonder if she knows how just seeing this image took me back to happier days.  I know she does not read blogs.  I know she no longer sews.  Too bad.  Her sewing gave a lot of pleasure and, I think, she'd get a kick out of reading some of those blogs for herself.

Things being what they are I'm pretty sure none of the above will EVER happen.  Like I said, that really is too bad.  For her, too.
