But I Did It

Walking today was torture.  I tried a different parking strategy and failed miserably.  I had been leaving before 8:00 am for an eleven thirty class; not because I am so obsessive about being late (although I am) but because parking is atrocious.  Today I left at a little after nine, thinking the eight o'clock classes would be letting out and SOMEBODY with a relatively close parking place would be leaving.  I would car stalk this person and slip my Ancient Vehicle into the space.  This did not happen.  The best spot I could locate was...well, how big is a parking lot?  An acre?  A football field?  A square mile?  Anyway, it was really far.  I couldn't even see the building from the place I left my car.

It was also above 90 degrees today.  There was a bit of a breeze (praise all those weather gods!) but it was quite sporadic and blowing across super heated asphalt does not provide much natural cooling.  My eyebrows were dripping into my eyes.  My boobs were swimming in their own sweat ponds.  And even my White Girl Straight hair curled as it drowned in my ultra-perspiring scalp.  I can't even recall how long it took my poor body to return to a semi-normal state once I actually got inside.

AND IF THAT WASN'T BAD ENOUGH!  Next meeting my political science class has to go UPSTAIRS in ANOTHER BUILDING to the computer lab to take a goddam ten minute quiz!!!  AND I have an additional three hour night class later that day.  (See "atrocious parking" above.)  I may very well be dead by this time next Wednesday!

But, today, at least, I did it.
