First Bequest

When my moldy corpse is finally discovered I ask that the person in charge see to it that Miss Lauren Rae be given my Dream Book.  It looks like this:
It is usually on the floor right next to my bed.  You may have to move the Bible (YES!  I have a Bible that I actually read!), a small pink soft bound notebook (which is PRIVATE even at this point) and whatever text book I was looking at before I stopped breathing.  The Dream Book will be in the back.

That book is one of the first items I ever bought in an ebay auction.  I fell in love with the crazy quilt covers.  KuhRaZee!  And the pages all are lined.  I had to have it.  At that time I very rarely "had to have" anything for myself that I actually indulged.  Even less so lately.  Ah, well.

It became a book where I recorded dreams.  Actual night time brain stories.  And I had very strict rules about the recording of these "events."  I had to write them down the second they woke me up, as quickly as possible with no editing.  And no editorializing, no attempt at analysis.  Just content.  I kind of dared myself to do it that way.  I did leave out some names; but Lauren may be able to figure that out.  She can show the book to my girls; but NO ONE else.

I want Lauren to have it because she is clearly a Renaissance woman who will put it to good use.   She, too is an author wannabe in her own way.  She, too, puts great stock in her brain's night time antics. Write on, my Precious Niece!

  1. Mama, you should write this down on PAPER. Maybe inside the book, or inside a locket for us to find on your moldy corpse.
