On the first Earth Day I ditched school with a friend and went to a local college campus. We attended ecology themed seminars; saw a production of "The Egg And I"; and, unless my memory has totally crumbled, heard Ralph Nader speak. I could be inadvertently condensing some of these events into an elder lady's mind glitch. But it feels accurate.
We left, busting our grown up buttons and so hopeful that we could figure out how to save
our ailing planet. Armed with awareness and youthful chutzpah we knew a solution was close at hand.

Clearly there is still work to be done.
